Listed here are great phonetic words to use when sharing a new letter sound.
Always pull vocabulary from your child's current interests. For example: Margaret loves planets and you are introducing 'Ss', so include space, Saturn, sun, or when introducing 'Aa' include astronaut and asteroid. Also include friends, family and pet names, characters they love, favorite colors and foods or things you see in the room when giving a lesson. Just make the words relevant and familiar.
This list is designed to:
1. give some of the most commonly used words in the written English language.
2. give words that your child will be able to read and spell within a few lessons.
3. make your student laugh. Chances are if they laugh, they will remember the word for the sound and in turn remember the sound.
